The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII kicked off its month-long 72nd anniversary celebration, today, February 6, 2023 at the DSWD Field Office VIII grounds.
Anchored on the theme, “Kaagapay sa Pagbangon, Katuwang sa Bawat Hamon,” the kick-off activity opened with the message of the DSWD Field Office VIII Assistant Regional Director for Operations Natividad G. Sequito. ARDA Sequito warmly welcomed all DSWD employees to the anniversary celebration. She also relayed the message of Regional Director Grace Q. Subong who expressed that the success of one office or one program is a success of the entire DSWD office and that teamwork works if every DSWD employee embraces the idea that being part of the agency means being able to sacrifice self interests for the common good.
The speech was followed by an audio-visual presentation of the overview of the DSWD 72nd anniversary and a torch lighting.
Assistant Regional Director for Administration Clarito T. Logronio initiated the declaration of the opening of the games. For the first day of the anniversary celebration, the different teams of DSWD Field Office VIII will have to compete for the float motorcade competition and cheer dance competition.
Several activities are in store for the month-long DSWD 72nd anniversary celebration which include sports competition, “Tabo ha DSWD,” tree planting activity and “Kapihan sa DSWD” among others. All activities aim to recognize, acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of all DSWD employees, partners and stakeholders in upholding the DSWD brands “maagap at mapagkalingang serbisyo,” “serbisyong walang puwang sa katiwalian” at “patas na pagtrato sa komunidad,” throughout the years.
