The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Eastern Visayas has awarded seed capital fund to beneficiaries in Maasin City, Sogod, and Liloan, Southern Leyte on January 29, 2024.
The seed capital fund is a form of financial assistance, which is intended for the procurement of raw materials, small tools, and common service facilities necessary to establish enterprise.
Present at the ceremony were Jhade Bestudio, the City Social Welfare and Development Officer of Maasin City, and Ms. Larisse, a representative from Tingog Partylist.
In Maasin City, DSWD Eastern Visayas has identified two Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) as recipients of the livelihood assistance. The first SLPA, composed of seven members, received a grant of Php105,000.00, while the second SLPA, comprising nine members, was given Php180,000.00.
Meawhile in Sogod, DSWD Eastern Visayas extended a seed capital fund of Php200,000.00 to an SLPA comprising of 10 members; and Php15,000.00 to an individual in Liloan, Southern Leyte.
This underscores DSWD Eastern Visayas’ efforts to empower individuals and associations towards self-sufficiency and sustainable growth.
