The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII, through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), has awarded seed capital fund amounting to Php 1,200,000.00 to boost the livelihood initiatives of two associations in Leyte province on 15 March 2024.

The beneficiaries are the SBPWM Agriculture Cooperative of Brgy. Suba, Villaba, Leyte, and the SBPWM Agriculture Cooperative of Tabango, Leyte. Each association received Php 600,000.00 to support their respective livelihood projects.

The SBPWM Agriculture Cooperative of Brgy. Suba, Villaba, Leyte, will use the funds for their General Merchandise and Fishing Supplies Project, while the SBPWM Agriculture Cooperative of Tabango, Leyte, plans to establish a Sari-sari Store and engage in Feed Retailing.

The seed capital fund is a form of financial assistance, which is intended for the procurement of raw materials, small tools, and common service facilities necessary to establish enterprise.

Key stakeholders attended the activity which includes Vince Villanueva and Agripino Tingog, Municipal Social Welfare Officer Ma. Flor Pastor, SLP Provincial Partnership Officer David Gregorio, DSWD Municipal Link Mae Etong, and SLP Project Development Officer Jennifer Tadea.🌱
