The Villahermosa Oriental Farmers and Fisherfolks Sustainable Livelihood (SLP) Association, under the Zero Hunger Program, embarked on a three-day workshop on Urban and Pre-urban Agriculture on 3-5 April 2024.

The workshop was facilitated by the Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Pagsangjan Municipal Agriculture Office.

Thirty participants, comprising 12 Pantawid beneficiaries and 18 non-Pantawid individuals, delved into training session covering various facets of modern agricultural techniques tailored to urban and pre-urban settings.

On the final day of the training, the association had a brief excursion to Lolo Pabs Integrated Farm and D’martins Farm in Gandara, Samar.

The Zero Hunger Program, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, aims to eradicate hunger and malnutrition while promoting sustainable agriculture practices by 2030. The program endeavors to create a future where every individual has access to nutritious food and economic opportunities.🌱
